On May 9, the Chinese Embassy in Tanzania and Tanzanian Ministry of Industry and Trade co-hosted a briefing on“Zero-Tariff for Shared Opportunities”. H.E. Ambassador Chen Mingjian and Hon. Judith Kapinga, Minister for Industry and Trade attended the event, together with over 300 people including representatives of Tanzanian exporters, Chinese enterprises and media from China and Tanzania.

Amb. Chen stated in her remarks that the zero-tariff policy was expanded to all African countries that have diplomatic relations with China on May 1 this year, demonstrating China's determination to embance high-level opening-up. Hope Tanzania will make good use of this policy to continuously deepen China-Tanzania economic cooperation and friendly relations.
Minister Kapinga highly commended China's zero-tariff policy for Africa, stating that the Chinese measures have brought tangible benefits to the Tanzanian people. Tanzania stands ready to work with China to share opportunities for common development.

At the briefing, Counselor Chu Kun of the Chinese Embassy and Deputy Permanent Secretary Aristides Mbwasi of Tanzanian Ministry of Industry and Trade respectively explained the zero-tariff policy, "Green Channel 2.0" version, and Tanzanian export rules, followed by a Q and A session. Amb. Chen took interviews with Tanzanian mainstream media later.
