Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Dr. Lu Youqing, on behalf of Red Cross Society of China (RCSC), exchanged notes with Dr. Zainab Amir Gama, President of Tanzania Red Cross Society (TRCS), on cooperation projects in Dar es Salaam on March 11th, 2016. Mr. Lin Zhiyong, the Chinese Economic and Commercial Representative in Tanzania, officials of TRCS and journalists from both sides attended the ceremony.
Amb. Lu said that in order to implement the outcomes of the Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, RCSC will deliver a batch of non-emergency humanitarian relief materials to TRCS, which include relief supplies such as tents and office equipments for capacity building such as computers. These materials represent the deep traditional Sino-Tanzanian friendship and will greatly benefit TRCS' capacity and efficiency.
Mr. Gama expressed his gratitude for China's efforts and promised to make good use of the materials. He also made good wishes for the future cooperation between the Red Cross Societies of both countries.
