The second batch of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines donated via COVAX facility arrived in Dar es Salaam on October 8, 2021. Up to now, two batches of Sinopharm COVID19 vaccines, totaling 1,065,600 doses, have been donated to the Tanzanian government through COVAX facility.
Mr. Xu Chen, Minister Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Tanzania, attended the welcome ceremony and delivered a speech. Other leaders present at the ceremony include Minister of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children of Tanzania Hon. Dr. Dorothy Gwajiwa, Minister of Health, Social Welfare, Elderly, Gender and Children of Zanzibar Hon. Nassor Ahmed Mazrui, UN Resident Coordinator Hon.
