Shocked by the tragic “MV Skagit” ferry accident happened on July 18, 2012, H.E. Hu Jintao, President of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Xi Jinping, Vice President of the People’s Republic of China and Hon. Yang Jiechi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China extended messages of condolence to H.E Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Ali Mohamed Shein, President of Zanzibar and Hon. Bernard Kamillius Membe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation of the United Republic of Tanzania respectively. On behalf of the Chinese Government and the people, the Chinese leaders and Minister expressed heartfelt sympathies to the deceased and deep condolences to their bereaved families.
