Cultural Relation between China and Tanzania

The Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, with a view to further promoting the friendly relations and strengthening exchanges and cooperation in the field of culture between the two countries and, in accordance with the Cultural Agreement signed between the two Governments on April 30, 1992 in Dodoma, have agreed on the implementing program for the years. The Agreement on developing the cooperative project of higher education between the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education of the United Republic of Tanzania was signed in June, 2000,the Chinese side provides the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) with two micro-computer teachers and helps DIT to develop teaching and research in the field of micro-computer and training of lecturers and students of micro-computer knowledge so as to develop the technology of micro-computer in Tanzania. During the years 2005 to 2007, the Chinese side offered one hundred government full scholarships to Tanzania each year. The Tanzanian side offered China five government scholarships in 2006, and four government scholarships in 2007. Permanent secretary of Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology visited China in September 2007. Qingdao arts group attended the 10th Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF) in June 2007, and Tanzanian arts group attended the 7th China International Folk Arts Festival in September. China and Tanzania engage in all-round cooperation in the fields of culture and education, where both sides have maintained a very close relationship and increased the number of cooperative activities. The current relations in the field of culture and education between the two countries grow to higher levels.
