Tanzanian President sent condolence message to President Xi Jinping on Tianjin Explosion

 On August 13, 2015, H.E. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, sent a condolence message to H.E. Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, on the explosion at Tianjin Port.

    President Kikwete said, "I'm deeply saddened by the shocking news of explosions that happened at a port warehouse in the City of Tianjin causing loss of dozens of lives and leaving many more critically injured. On behalf of the People and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, I wish to convey to you and through you to the People and the Government of the People's Republic of China our heartfelt condolences and deep sympathies. In this time of grief, our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families and we wish the survivors full and quick recovery. The People of Tanzania while praising the spirit of selflessness demonstrated by first responders working to help the injured, are confident that the Government and the People of China will continue to respond to this tragedy with characteristic resolve and resilience and will succeed in restoring normalcy quickly. Please accept, Your Excellency and Dear Brother the assurances of my highest consideration.
