Chinese Embassy Donates Hand Washing Equipment and Liquid Soap to Primary and Secondary Schools in Dar es Salaam

On the eve of schools reopening in Tanzania, Chinese Embassy in Tanzania, in cooperation with Sukos Kova Foundation, donates 100 sets of hand washing equipment and 550 liters of liquid soap to primary and secondary schools in Dar es Salaam. A handover ceremony was held at the Embassy on 25 June 2020, with participation of H.E. Wang Ke, Ambassador of China to Tanzania, Mr. Lawrence Malangwa, acting Regional Administrative Secretary of Dar es Salaam, Mr. Rashid Mfaume, Regional Medical Officer of Dar es Salaam, Mr. Suleiman Kova, Executive Director of Sukos Kova Foundation, and representatives of beneficiary schools and media organizations.

In her speech, Ambassador Wang Ke commended Tanzania for formulating anti-COVID19 policies according to its national conditions & giving full consideration to epidemic control, economic development & protection of people's livelihood. She says the government's efforts have paid off.

She spoke highly of bilateral relations between China and Tanzania. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, China has provided anti-epidemic supplies to Tanzania, and organized several video conferences for Chinese and Tanzanian medical experts to exchange experience in epidemic control, and diagnosis and treatment, including using traditional medicine to treat the patients.

Mr Malangwa, on behaf of Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner’s Office, thanked the Chinese Embassy for donating hand washing equipment and liquid soap to schools in Dar es Salaam, and said the donation is good example of the strong ties between Tanzania and China. He promised to ensure that all beneficiary schools make good use of these equipment, and appealed other stakeholders to take similar actions.
